I'd like to mix my lamp oil with white gas but am unsure of what parts to add to each other....equal? 1/4 to 3/4? Also, can you store this mixture together? And lastly, what type of fuel do people use for fire eating? Appreciate the input....

I don't understand "mixing" fuels. I find it rather pointless.
Soak your wick, long and hard, in lamp oil until you're sure it's full.
    Spin out thoroughly.
    Splash with white gas.
    Spin.

The whole point to the white gas is to get the wick lit quickly. It does you no good if it's buried deep inside your wick. You want it at the surface anyway, so why not just get it there? If you can find a low density polyethylene bottle, you can just squeeze the white gas on (without ruining a squeezie bottle). Turkey basters work in a pinch. Heck, you can even pre-soak with lamp oil weeks ahead of time, it's not going anywhere without burning.

thanks tedward! i've been doing the opposite, soaking wicks in white gas then spraying on lamp oil...perhaps that was the problem. As for fire eating, what do you use? Actaully, I suppose I can find that out on the links you posted...thanks again!

I'm petty much a white gas purist. I like to do contact/fleshing which requires the lower flash point fuels like white. But I have friends who do a lot of fire eating and they use lamp. In fact, somehow, they do vapor tricks, which I've never managed with lamp. So, personal preference there, I guess.

Stuff like the opening trick on this video pretty much requires the use of white:

On the flip side, I'd never breathe fire with white, so, I guess I'm a dual fuel performer.
